Waitlist Pre-Applications will open Monday, August 5 for the Carnation Senior Apartments! The document will be on our website, www.snovalleysenior.org, and at the senior center. The preapplication is to determine a person’s eligibility only; you will then be required to complete a full rental application if chosen from the waiting list for screening. Pre-Applications will not be accepted at the Sno-Valley Senior Center.
Your place on the waitlist is determined by when the property management company receives the pre-application, using the submission instructions included on the pre-application. Staff at the senior center will not be submitting pre-applications for prospective residents. If you have questions about this process, please contact the property management company using the information provided on the waitlist pre-application, or contact Sno-Valley Senior Center Executive Director, Kira Avery, at kiraa@soundgenerations.org or (425) 333-4152.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our 4th of July Event! Our chefs for the event, Jim Ribail, and Daniel Enciso, prepared over 140 delicious Spaghetti Dinners on Wednesday, July 3rd and our volunteers were wonderful help in the kitchen and dining room: checking people in and selling raffle tickets. We also had great support from local businesses and donors, including Duvall Family Grocer, Duvall Safeway, Carnation Market, Farmhouse Market, and Susan & JJ Schmoll.
On July 4th we sold 553 servings of Strawberry Shortcake, delicious Strawberry Lemonade, and quilt raffle tickets. Thank you to Delores Ulrich, Leslie Day & family, and Diane Amos, for coming to the senior center early in the morning to prepare the shortcake, and thank you to all the volunteers that served, cleared tables, and cashiered. And thank you to the Sno-Valley Senior Center Quilting Group for creating and donating the beautiful quilt we raffled off! Remlinger Farms provided delicious strawberries and our event had support from generous sponsors, including the Duvall Civic Club, Tolt Historical Society, Sunrise Senior Living-Issaquah, and Thrivent.
Thanks to an anonymous donation, the senior center was able to purchase a second trip van! This White 2017 Ford Transit seats eight and will allow us to have more flexibility with trips.
Planning is fully underway for our Annual Dinner and Auction event, and I hope you will join us! This is our biggest fundraising event of the year, and we are excited to be hosting it at the Club at Snoqualmie Ridge on Saturday, October 19. There will be cocktails, a delicious dinner, silent and live auction items, fun raffle games, and a dessert dash featuring local bakeries and restaurants.
Tickets are on sale now, $75 per person, $700 for a table of ten, OR start the party early by purchasing VIP tickets for $95 each, $900 per table of ten and attend a pre-funk party, bid first in the super silent auction, and enjoy more fun benefits. If you would like to be a table captain, committing to filling a table of 10 (you’re not required to purchase the table), please email kiraa@soundgenerations.org.
If you would like to donate to the auction, we are still procuring items! Do you have connections to a restaurant for gift cards? Local chef? Season tickets? Wine tours or tasting parties? Entrance to local attractions? How about a vacation? A week, or weekend away at a rental home or timeshare? Or a cash donation to help us purchase items!
Learn more about the event and purchase tickets at https:// snovalley24.givesmart.com. If you have an item to donate or would like to volunteer, you can email kiraa@soundgenerations.org!
As always, if you have questions, comments, or concerns please call me at 425-333-4152 ext. 1 or email kiraa@soundgenerations.org.
