An Ocean of Possibilities. Dive in! Make waves! Change Lives!
The Sno-Valley Senior Center Gala & Auction is coming up on Saturday, October 17, and the theme is “Under the Sea”! We are so excited to be hosting this event at The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge. We have great items to bid on, including a stay at Willows Lodge, Cooking Class for 10, Day of Sailing for 4, and so much more!
If you aren’t able to attend in-person, you can still win some great items at the online auction, which opens on Monday, October 12. This is our most successful fundraiser of the year, and you can help us reach our goal of $75,000 raised by purchasing your tickets or registering to bid at the link: https://snovalley26.auctria.events
Another way to get involved at the senior center is to join the Board of Directors! I’m excited to announce that at the September board meeting, Marlina Yee-Hales was nominated and approved as the newest board member, filling a vacancy left by Maureen Cleary earlier this year. You may have seen Marlina in the van as a trip driver, teaching classes about technology like AI, or bringing in food from her work gleaning. We are so excited to have her join us.
Marlina is a guest faculty member in the Information School at the University of Washington, 15+ years experienced IT professional, and community member who values building connections across generations and strengthening local organizations. She is passionate about supporting programs that help seniors remain active, engaged, and connected to their community.
Sno-Valley Senior Center is looking for 1-2 more people to join the board at the beginning of 2027. If you are interested in contributing to and governing the implementation of our mission to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive gathering place that supports, inspires and uplifts our Snoqualmie Valley community to lead healthy, enriched lives through participation in diverse programming, please email me at kiraa@soundgenerations.org.
We are excited to be hosting the Annual Fall Dinner & Pie Auction on Saturday, November 21 with two seatings (4:30 & 6:30pm), where you have your choice of entrées, with all the fixings. At this event you will have the chance to bid on delicious pies baked by Senior Center members. If you’re interested in volunteering for this event, or would like to bake and bring a pie, please email me, kiraa@soundgenerations.org! Tickets will be on sale soon!
As always, if you have questions, comments, or concerns please call me at 425-333-4152 ext. 1 or email kiraa@soundgenerations.org.
